Watchet Products was established in the summer of 1970, by my parents, in the small harbour town of Watchet in the South West of England.
My parents were involved in the manufacture of melamine placemats, coasters and cutting boards since the early1960's and were associated to the one manufacture that really created the idea of kitchen co-ordinates for the home.
Since the start of the business in 1970 we have seen the company grow to become one of the major manufactures in the Country.
In March 2008 we re-located to a new factory that is hidden in a green valley in the midst of the quantock hills, just off the A 358 (Taunton to Minehead road). In a modern single span building we have made every possible effort to remove our carbon footprint as much as we can. We installed a state of the art waste burner that burns all our melamine offcuts and other waste at 1200c, this in turn heats the factory space with hot blown air. By burning the waste we no longer need to send large roll on roll off skips to the landfill site!
Being the 2nd generation of the family in the business, yet being involved since I was a 10 year old boy, I have seen so many changes in the business as well as in the industry as well. The third generation of the family are now working for the company and the future look bright for "Watchet Products".
All of us at Watchet Products strive to produce the best quality products and to supply these products to you at a very competitive price. All products are finshed by hand and checked with the human eye.
We try where we can to purchase recycled materials or from replenishable sources.
In essence, Watchet Products is a modern forward looking company, with old fashioned values. I value my company as it is all I have known, I value our staff as they give me 100%, we value all our customers as we need them!
